Fourth of July Food & Wine Pairings

When I think about the Fourth of July, I think about community—gathering under open skies with friends and family, laughter echoing around a firepit, the scent of grilled tri-tip in the air, and of course, the clink of glasses filled with something truly special.

This year, Rosco and I wanted to bring a little of that Azur magic straight to your celebrations. So we teamed up to create a video featuring two of our favorite wines, each thoughtfully paired with recipes that capture the spirit of the season.

Whether you’re planning a backyard barbecue or a sunset picnic, we hope our pairings bring something new to your table—and your glass.

Cool, juicy cantaloupe meets savory prosciutto in this effortless summer bite. Wrap thin slices of ham around ripe melon wedges, chill, and pass around just before the fireworks. It’s light, luxe, and laughably easy!

Crafted in the traditional Provençal style, our 2022 Rosé is summer in a bottle—delicate, expressive, and endlessly food-friendly. With vibrant notes of wild strawberries, white peach, and Meyer lemon zest, it’s crisp and refreshing with just the right touch of coastal minerality.

Classic Santa Maria–Style Tri-Tip

Juicy, spice-rubbed tri-tip cooked over open flame is a natural match for the deep tannins and dark fruit in the Reserve. This pairing brings out the best in both—earthy, robust, and utterly satisfying. We’ve shared our go-to recipe in the video and below so you can try it for yourself, whether you’re a grill master or roasting in the oven.

Pair with our 2021 Azur Reserve

A bold blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Petit Verdot, the 2021 Azur Reserve is our ode to the richness of Napa terroir. With notes of black cherry, cassis, violets, and spice, it’s powerful, structured, and the perfect companion to anything hot off the grill.

At Azur, wine is about connection—between the land, the maker, and the moment it’s enjoyed. However you’re celebrating this Independence Day, we hope these pairings bring a bit of Napa sunshine to your table.

Here’s to long days, good food, and great wine.

With gratitude,
